I longed to get back to the crisp, fresh mountain air after my weekend in the Bernese Oberland. For a change of mountain scenery, I explored Zermatt in Valais with Charlotte. This small, touristy town offered great views of the majestic Matterhorn, but it was definitely small and definitely touristy.
This past weekend consisted of mountains, snow, and more mountains! My heaven on Earth. I left work early to catch the 16:50 train from Lausanne to Bern to Interlaken Ost to Lauterbrunnen. From Lauterbrunnen, I took the 141 Postbus up to Schilthornbahn and transferred to a cable car, which took me up to Gimmelwald, a small community perched on the edge of a cliff with spectacular mountain views.
Snowelle (Snoelle) (Noelle) (Noellebelle) recently (as in yesterday) asked if I was posting pictures of my travels in Switzerland. So, upon her prompting, I have jumped back into the blogging game.
